Unique Stay: The Tiny House On A Farm In Winston-Salem, North Carolina

When we came across the Tiny House Farm on Airbnb, we immediately knew where our next road trip was going to take us. Winston-Salem, North Carolina, here we come! This is a fun way to plan a trip, if you’ve got the flexibility. Find a unique stay, and then plan where you’re going around that, rather than vice versa. And since we’d never stayed in a tiny house before, this was a no-brainer.

Where Is This Tiny House On A Farm?

Once a dairy-farm, the location is the business site of tiny house builders Perch & Nest. Two of their tinys and an amazing, big ol’ barn (for you “glampers”) are on site – all available as Airbnb rentals.

We stayed in “Roost20,” the smaller of the two houses. This little farmhouse on wheels is both beautiful and extremely well-designed. A spacious living area greets you upon entry, with a sizeable comfy sofa surrounded by ceiling-high windows. The ample natural light and high ceiling make you forget what a small space you’re in right off the bat.

A light and bright, fully-appointed kitchen provides you with everything you’ll need for your stay. We were extra excited about the pour over coffee accoutrements. Cuz, coffee! The bathroom is equally as impressive, spacious, and fully-appointed. The shower is designed with gorgeous, recycled glass tile and a rain shower head. There is also plenty of wardrobe storage and a flushing toilet.

A queen-sized sleeping loft awaits you upstairs. With windows on either side of the comfy bed, you’ll get plenty of light and an awesome cross breeze. And if you prefer it darker than the farm already is at night, simply draw the shades and you’ve got yourself a tiny cave.

Tiny House, Big Comfort

All in all, this tiny house is extremely comfortable. So much so, that for the first time in ages, we slept for eleven hours! The next morning as we enjoyed our pour overs and prepped for check-out, a couple of the resident chickens paid a visit to our doorstep! And we couldn’t think of a better way to wrap up our wonderful stay in this tiny house on a farm.
